1:1 Shopify Consulting: a strategic session for your e-commerce business

The 1:1 Shopify consultation is a video working session in which we analyse your store together and define a concrete action plan. You hold it directly with me, Francesco Guiducci, a freelance Shopify consultant and developer in Rome: I am not an agency, so there are no account managers or handovers between you and the person analysing the project.

During the session, we can work on theme architecture, usability, catalogue, apps, performance, tracking, conversions and development priorities. The guidance depends on the store’s real data and configuration: I do not apply the same checklist to everyone and do not automatically attribute commercial results to a technical change when they also depend on the product, traffic and market.

I handle activities of different sizes on Shopify Basic, Grow and Advanced. The plan in use is considered alongside the available features and the technical constraints of the individual store.

The consultation can also be used to compare existing apps, native Shopify solutions and custom development. When appropriate, I assess the costs, dependencies and maintenance of the different alternatives before recommending a route.

If a custom solution is required, I first carry out my Audit: I define and quote tailored work only after this analysis.

When to request a 1:1 Shopify consultation

1. Conversion analysis

I review the buying journey to identify verifiable friction in navigation, product pages, cart and mobile experience. Priorities are based on what emerges from the store and the available data, not on standard percentages or promises.

2. New store launch

If you are starting a new project, we define structure, catalogue, navigation, apps and required flows before investing time in development. The configuration is adapted to the selected Shopify plan and the functions the business actually needs.

3. Performance Optimization

I help you read the available metrics and understand which checks are needed on the theme, images, apps and scripts. An extensive diagnosis or operational optimisation requires a dedicated activity: I do not consider this work automatically included in the consultation hour.

4. Choosing apps and settings

I compare the required features, existing apps and native alternatives with you. For example, we can determine whether a feature is already available in the theme before introducing a new subscription. A full review of all apps is part of the dedicated analysis.

5. Channel integration

I verify configurations and data transmission to the tools actually used, such as Google, Meta or other channels connected to the store. When an integration depends on an app, an external account or platform limitations, I make this clear before proposing changes.

6. Decision support

I help you assess structural changes, redesigns, migrations or new features before investing budget. My role is to clarify feasibility, dependencies and technical risks so you can decide using concrete information rather than promises.

How the Shopify consultation works: the operational session

I dedicate a one-hour individual video call with screen sharing to you. Before the meeting, you tell me your questions and priorities; during the session, I examine the available context, compare the alternatives and explain how to proceed.

Example: You want to replace an app. Together, we check what it currently does and which alternatives the theme offers, clarifying limitations, dependencies and required activities before choosing.

The consultation helps you decide; implementing changes is a separate service. For a comprehensive diagnosis with a report, I recommend the Audit; to learn with guided support, Mentoring includes 10 live hours. I define and quote custom solutions only after the Audit.

Recording and any summary materials are agreed before the meeting.

Frequently asked questions about this service

How does the technical consultation work?

I dedicate a one-hour video call with screen sharing to you. We analyse the agreed priorities together and I help you decide what to do. For example, we can assess the choice of an app or clarify a setting; implementing changes is a separate service.

What do you recommend if I need a longer programme?

For a specific question, I recommend the one-hour technical consultation. If you want to learn to manage Shopify through exercises and guided support, Mentoring includes 10 live hours. I help you choose the route according to what you want to learn or clarify.

What should I prepare before the meeting?

Before the meeting, it is useful to send me your list of priorities and, when required for the agreed analysis, prepare collaborator access to the store. This lets us use the session time on the areas that are actually relevant.

Does the consultation also include implementing changes?

The consultation is used to analyse the request and clarify what to do. If you want me to implement the changes, we agree a separate technical intervention. For custom development, I first carry out the Audit and then define the activities and quote.

Will I receive a recording or a summary of the session?

Before the meeting, we agree whether recording or summary materials are planned. I do not consider them automatically included in every session; any recording requires the participants’ agreement.

Are you a Shopify agency or a freelancer?

I work independently: IFG eCommerce is my one-person practice. The person you speak with in the consultation is the same person who analyses the theme and follows any technical work. If your project requires an agency with several people operating at the same time, I prefer to make that clear before we start.

Which Shopify plans do you work with?

I work on Shopify Basic, Grow and Advanced. During the consultation I consider the features available and the technical constraints of the plan actually used by the store.
