If you sell on Shopify and are under the ordinary VAT regime, the law requires you to keep the Sales Register (Art. 24 D.P.R. 633/1972): the daily annotation of unfactored sales, broken down by VAT rate. IFG Sales Register is the app I designed to do this automatically for you, based on the actual orders from your store — not the electronic submission of sales to the Italian Revenue Agency, a different obligation reserved for those who also have a physical store with Shopify POS.
In a single panel: day-by-day register with automatic exclusion of already invoiced orders (never double VAT counting), reconciliation between Shopify turnover, register and invoices issued with alerts on discrepancies, automatic report sending to your accountant at the frequency you choose, and export ready for archiving in PDF and CSV.
I designed this app for Italian Shopify merchants under the ordinary VAT regime who sell online and need to maintain a Sales Register without manually recalculating orders, discounts, returns, and invoices every day. It's the right solution if you currently calculate your register on an Excel sheet or have your accountant do it by chasing order exports, and you want an app that keeps everything updated automatically, one order at a time.
Competing apps for cash register reconciliation only go as far as calculation: they sum up unfactored orders by tax rate and produce the daily total. However, none of the ones I've analyzed compare that total with what Shopify has actually collected, nor with the invoices you've actually issued — so if an order is missed, a refund isn't recorded, or the store's VAT configuration has an issue, the register might be wrong without anyone noticing. IFG Cash Register Reconciliation automatically reconciles Shopify's revenue, the register, and issued invoices, and alerts you when the numbers don't match.

If you've already searched for a cash register app on the Shopify App Store, you'll have noticed that the market is small but already served: multiple apps do the same thing, calculate the daily total of unfactored sales by VAT rate, at a similar price. The problem is that none of the ones I've analyzed compare the result with what your store has actually collected on Shopify, nor with the invoices you've actually issued — so if an order slips through, a refund isn't recorded, or the store's VAT configuration has a problem, the register can be wrong without anyone noticing, until your accountant discovers it during settlement.
I created IFG Registro dei Corrispettivi (Cash Register) to close exactly this gap: in addition to the day-by-day register, it automatically reconciles Shopify turnover, the register, and issued invoices, and alerts you when something is amiss. The register only considers unfactored sales — an order with a VAT number or Tax ID at checkout is automatically excluded, to avoid double counting of VAT — and every report is ready to be sent to your accountant, automatically, at the frequency you choose.
An important clarification: the app keeps the cash register (the annotation obligation, Art. 24 D.P.R. 633/1972), not the daily electronic submission to the Agenzia delle Entrate — a different obligation, which only applies to those who also have a physical store with Shopify POS. And as with any tax tool, the responsibility for proper bookkeeping always remains yours and your accountant's: the app helps you save time on calculations, it does not replace a professional check.
No. IFG Sales Register keeps the Sales Register (the daily recording obligation set forth in Article 24 of Presidential Decree 633/1972), not the daily electronic submission — that is a different obligation, reserved for those who also have a physical retail store with Shopify POS and an electronic cash register. If you only sell online, the sales register remains the obligation that concerns you.
It automatically recognizes orders with a VAT number or tax code entered at checkout and excludes them from the total revenue, because those orders are already declared via invoice — the same principle referenced in Italian Revenue Agency FAQ no. 45 of 21/12/2018.
The app compares three numbers — actual Shopify turnover, total cash register receipts, and invoices issued — and flags a discrepancy if something doesn't add up, before the problem reaches your accountant during VAT settlement.
Refunds are recorded as reversals on the day they occur, never backdated to a closed day: once a ledger day is consolidated, it remains unchangeable.
No, and it's not designed to. IFG Cash Register automates calculations and saves you time, but the responsibility for accurate bookkeeping always remains yours and your accountant's — which is why the app sends the report directly to them, at the frequency you choose.
