Shopify B2B on Basic, Grow and Advanced: Features and Limits 2026

Rappresentazione astratta e ingegneristica della scomposizione dei flussi di dati B2B e DTC su Shopify

Direct answer: since April 2, 2026, Shopify has extended several native B2B features to the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans. This does not mean these plans include every possible B2B capability: catalogs, payments and customizations have different limits that should be verified before designing a wholesale workflow.

What is available on Basic, Grow and Advanced

Shopify makes several native B2B foundations available on these plans, including companies and company locations, self-serve purchasing, net payment terms, quantity rules and volume pricing. For B2B catalogs, Basic, Grow and Advanced can use up to 3 active catalogs in total across B2B markets according to the current documentation.

Using B2B catalogs on these plans also requires the current Shopify Markets configuration. Before setting up wholesale I therefore check the plan, Markets setup, customer structure and the real number of price lists required.

The 3-catalog limit

The limit does not mean each business customer needs a separate catalog. Catalogs can be designed for groups of customers sharing assortments or pricing. If the business requires many individual price lists or direct catalog assignment to specific companies and locations, the requirement goes beyond what these plans provide natively.

Payments and commercial terms

Net payment terms are available in the documented contexts, while other B2B payment capabilities have different plan availability. Deposits, partial payments and fulfillment-linked payment requests should not be promised without verification. I therefore check the exact feature in the current Shopify documentation before including it in a project.

Checkout and customizations

Calling checkout on standard plans “completely locked” is inaccurate. Shopify provides official technologies such as Checkout Extensibility, web pixels, post-purchase extensions, customer accounts and Shopify Functions, but individual targets and APIs have plan- and extension-specific availability.

If a requirement affects information, shipping or payment at checkout, I first verify which extension point is available on the selected plan. If a requested customization is not supported, I design a compatible alternative instead of promising an impossible modification.

When native B2B on these plans is a good fit

It is a solid foundation when the business can be organized with a small number of shared catalogs, quantity rules, dedicated pricing and business customers managed within the same D2C store. Before implementation I still map catalogs, markets, permissions, orders and ERP or management-system integrations.

When a different architecture is needed

If the business needs many individual price lists, payment flows that are not available, contextual customizations outside the supported scope or highly complex integrations, the requirement should be reassessed. The solution may require a dedicated app, a different integration or a change to the commercial process.

My scope of work

I’m Francesco Guiducci, a freelance Shopify expert and Shopify app developer. My operating scope is Shopify’s standard plans, specifically Basic, Grow and Advanced. I do not work on Shopify Plus projects. When I design a B2B flow, I verify what is actually available on those plans and build within those limits.

For current differences, see Shopify’s official B2B features by plan documentation.
