PrestaShop to Shopify Migration 2026: Data, SEO and Tests

Direct answer: migrating from PrestaShop to Shopify requires an inventory of data and URLs before exporting anything. The move should not automatically replicate old modules and technical debt.
Data to map
Products, variants, customers, categories, content, images, URLs and integrations are classified according to their Shopify destination. Not every PrestaShop object has a direct equivalent.
Redirects and SEO
I create an old URL → new destination map and verify canonicals, titles, content and linking. Redirects reduce SEO risk, but rankings and traffic cannot be guaranteed to remain identical after a migration.
Theme
The storefront is rebuilt on Online Store 2.0, preserving what the brand needs without copying legacy code simply to retain the same technical implementation.
Modules and integrations
For each module I check for a native Shopify feature, available app or the need for custom development. If ERP, CRM or proprietary logic is required, I design the integration at the API/app layer.
Go-live
Before the switch I verify checkout, payments, taxes, shipping, emails, accounts and redirects; after the move I monitor errors and indexing.
I am Francesco Guiducci, a freelance Shopify expert and Shopify app developer. I handle migrations on Basic, Shopify and Advanced with a verifiable scope and without promises of “zero loss” that also depend on search engines and external systems.
